FAQ
The essentials of the game in a few lines.
What is Who Left It On?
A narrative pixel-art game played in chapters. You arrive at a water-treatment plant abandoned after a worldwide water crisis and find out what happened as you explore, pick up objects, read notes and solve small tasks to repair it.
Is it real water?
No. It is a work of fiction: the base, the crisis and everything that happens in it are made up.
How long is a chapter, and what do I do first?
It depends on how much you explore. Play at your own pace and stop whenever you like, because the game saves by itself. To start, take your time around the base: pick up what you find, read the notes and connect the dots. There is a mystery to uncover, and every clue brings you closer to what happened here.
How do I play on a phone or a computer?
On a computer, move with WASD or the arrow keys and press E to use whatever is near you. On a phone, use the joystick and tap the screen. On a phone you can play upright or sideways, and switch to full screen.
Is my progress saved?
Yes, automatically, in your account. When you come back, you can pick up where you left off.
Do I need an account?
Yes, because your progress is saved in your account. You can create one with your email or with Google.
What happens if I switch language?
The game comes in Spanish and English (more languages will follow). You can switch whenever you like: your progress stays and the texts move to the language you pick.
How much does it cost?
For now the first chapter is free. Some future chapters may have a cost, and we will tell you before they do.
Will there be more chapters? How will I find out?
Yes, we will release more over time. To hear about them, turn on the news option (it is optional) in “My account”, or follow us on social networks: you will find them on the “Support the project” page.
How do I report a bug or send an idea?
Write to hello@wholeftiton.com. Tell us what happened and what device you were playing on; ideas are welcome too.
What data do you keep?
Only what your account and your progress need. We explain it in full on the Privacy policy page.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. You can delete it yourself from “My account”.
How do I recover my password?
On the sign-in screen, use the “Forgot your password?” link and follow the steps we send you by email.
